JPMC 2015 Annual Report

JPMorgan Chase & Co (JPMC) approached Millennium Communications to design and develop the 2015 corporate responsibility report in 2016. The report contained 11 articles that overviewed the company events in 2015. It is a magazine-style PDF file. The client was looking for a clean, modern, and user-friendly microsite to present the report to the public and the internal employees. I was responsible for the ideation and partnered with another UI designer for the interface design.

The Challenge

After we reviewed the PDF file, we summarized some issues that needed to be prioritized for designing a PDF file to a microsite: How to navigate the site? How to display 11 long articles? Also, we needed to keep the style aligned with the current JPMC website and check the legibility and readability.

Kickoff

Get some Initial Understanding

The new website will be based on an existing PDF file. The content structure in the PDF file couldn’t be changed. So we followed the table of contents and wrote down the article order from the PDF.

We started our design process from exploring the right navigation, in order to keep a consistent presentation with the PDF file. How to navigate was important.

The next problem was how to display the long content to make these eleven articles interesting and easy to read.
